Energy Storage – Why Offshore?

When: Tuesday 30th August at 12:30 – 14:00 and Wednesday 31st August at 10:30 – 12:00
WhereMostun Natursenter, Stavanger, Norway

Subsea 7 and FLASC will be at ONS 2022 presenting their latest joint-developments on offshore energy storage, specifically the PowerBundle technology which is part of the ONS technical program.

This will be a focused session on the need for utility-scale storage of energy at sea and how this specific technology will be essential in supporting the huge pipeline of offshore wind deployment, ambitious decarbonization targets in oil & gas, and applications with limited space for land-based storage.

The PowerBundle is the integration of FLASC’s Hydro-Pneumatic Energy Storage technology within Subsea 7’s established pipeline embodiment. It is a unique long duration offshore energy storage solution suited for shallow water deployments and complementary to both bottom-fixed and floating wind. The technology has already received funding support from key stakeholders and large-scale demonstration projects are already underway.

Join us for this exclusive event to learn more about the role of offshore energy storage in accelerating the green transition, and gain early access to upcoming projects and collaboration opportunities.

Speakers:

  • Daniel Buhagiar – Co-Founder & CEO at FLASC B.V.
  • Ernst Kloster – Technology Manager at Subsea 7
